Meeting Your Information Needs- Can You Help?

For some time now, parents in Hampshire and Nationally have been asking for a “One Stop Shop” where they can find all the information they need in one place. The Children and Families Bill, which is due to come into effect in September 2014, will place a statutory duty on local authorities to provide this single place for information, which will be called the Local Offer. The Local Offer will ultimately provide information about services available from Health, Social Care, Education and the Voluntary Sector for children and young people aged 0-25.
Parent Voice and Hampshire Parent Carer Network (HPCN) are working closely with Hampshire County Council (HCC) and NHS Hampshire to ensure that the Local Offer is developed to meet your needs. We would therefore like you to consider taking part in our Local Offer Research Project.
We are undertaking this research to understand what information you need at different points in your journey, where you currently find this information and what information has been particularly difficult for you to find. This will help us to shape the Local Offer to the needs of parents and carers in Hampshire, so that suitable and timely information can be found more easily.
If you are selected to participate in the research, this will mean attending an interview where you will be asked a series of questions about how you have found information in the past and currently – this should take no longer than an hour and a half, and will be arranged at a time and venue that will suit you. Any information shared at these interviews will be treated confidentially.
We need to gather information from a range of parents and carers with children of varying ages and types of disability. Please complete your details via this Survey Monkey link so that we can select the most appropriate participants based on this information:
The deadline for responses is Friday 24th May 2013.
Thank you for your time and interest.
